5 Studio 263 actors you may have forgotten about

It’s been a while since we watched Studio 263, and maybe some of us had actually forgotten about the soapie, until actress Anne Nhira, came into the limelight for getting dancer Zodwa Wabantu banned from participating at the Harare International Carnival. One of our readers asked how the other Studio 263 actors are doing and we decided to take a look.

 

So here is what Anne Nhira and her former Studi 263 actors are doing:

1.Vimbai Jari (Anne Nhira)

After her groundbreaking success as one of the key actors in Studio 263, Anne tried her hand at singing and went on to release a single titled “The One”. She also featured in a South African production called “The Rapist“. After being out of the the limelight for a while, she is back  in the spotlight.

2. Joyce Huni (Tinopona Katsande)

Tinopona Katsande left acting to pursue a radio djing career at ZiFM Stereo. Her career on radio was short-lived. In 2013, she was part of the programme, ‘Celebrities Combined’ which had a mandate to help sick children a project she is still working on. Read full profile

 

3. Muvengwa (Nevernay Chinyanga)

Following his stint with Studio 263, Chinyanga launched a music career which saw him releasing several songs that were followed up with videos. He was also a part time radio journalist with a local radio station. He eventually moved to South Africa where he, unfortunately, died of diabetes and heart complications. Read full profile

 

4. Jabulani Jari (Denzel Burutsa)


Denzel Burutsa ventured into film production after the demise of Studio 263. He has also been doing music video production working with artists such as Sanii Makhalima, Shinsoman and Stunner. Read full profile

 

5. Trevor Davies (Tongayi Chirisa)

Chirisa is one of the former 263 actors that have made greatstrides on the international film scene. After featuring in Studio 263, he went on to star in Tanyaradzwa, Crouse, Sleepy Hollow among others. In 2015, he landed a role in an American comedy, “The Jim Gaffian Show” which is set to make its debut appearance on Comedy Central. He is currently attached to Hollywood in the USA.
