MDC VP, Elias Mudzuri In Trouble For Not Giving His Seat To Chamisa At Mtukudzi Funeral

MDC co-vice president Elias Mudzuri is said to be in fresh trouble with his party colleagues after breaking party protocol at the burial of the late national hero Oliver Mtukudzi. A senior MDC official who spoke to NewZimbabwe.com revealed that Mudzuri failed to offer Chamisa his seat. Said the source:

Mudzuri breached party protocol by going alone to Tuku’s funeral without informing the party’s information and protocol department.

He should have checked with these two departments if the president (Chamisa) was attending the burial.

The other co-Vice President (Morgen) Komichi and other senior party officials travelled with the president but he (Mudzuri) chose to travel alone and to make matters worse, he was acknowledged while the president was harassed and embarrassed.

… The moment he saw Chamisa entering, as a junior official, he was supposed to vacate his seat and give way to the president.

He never bothered to do that and instead, he remained seated as if he was enjoying Chamisa’s humiliation.

Reports of a fallout between Chamisa and his deputy have made headlines over the past few months as the two allegedly fight over the control of the party ahead of an elective Congress to be held this year.
