Divisions In The Ruling ZANU PF Frustrating National Development

A News Day article reports that ZANU PF provincial chairperson for Mashonaland Central, Kazembe Kazembe has conceded that factionalism within the ruling party is frustrating national economic recovery.

Kazembe Kazembe was speaking at an event held in Mazowe ward 9 in Chiweshe on Saturday to celebrate councillor John Mudzonga’s victory. The ICT minister said:

Elections are over, we are elated to be celebrating our councillor’s victory, but for Zimbabwe to move forward, we should unite within the party and build the nation together.

Mazowe Rural District Council chairperson, Mudzonga informed the gathering that he is now working with members of opposition parties despite them earlier complaining about how the 2018 elections were conducted.

It is highly speculated that there emerged another faction within ZANU PF following the disposal of president Mugabe in November 2017.

Other reports suggest the existence of a sour relationship between president Mnangagwa and his deputy,  Constantino Chiwenga, who is said to be eyeing to take over power.
