Zimbabwe Minister of Sports and Culture, Kirsty Coventry has hit back at Cosafa over the hosting of its tournament, saying Zimbabwe will not be arm twisted. Using her Twitter, Coventry said that Zimbabwe will not accept a “bad deal” and that threats will not work.
1. No guarantees were ever signed for 2019 or 2020.
2. You cannot threaten an Association with a Fine to force them to host an event. If #Cosafa Deal for 2020 is GOOD for Zim, we host. If BAD (like 2019), it won't happen.https://t.co/vGghtq3V5z

Zimbabwe failed to host the 2019 tournament and for it, it was fined $200,000. The fine was however reduced to $50,000 on condition that the country hosts 2020 Cosafa Cup. Zifa will reportedly other penalties if it fails to accept the offer to host the event in 2020.
