Leo Mugabe Says Grace Mugabe Is Going Nowhere After Funeral

Leo Mugabe, the spokesperson of the family of the late founding father of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe has said that the former first lady, Grace Mugabe will not be leaving the country after the funeral and burial of the late veteran leader.

Some observers had predicted that she would be afraid to stay as her relationship with the incumbent president, Emmerson Mnangagwa deteriorated towards the end of Mugabe’s reign.

They also said that revelations by Mnangagwa that the ongoing land audit unearthed that Grace owned multiple farms could also force her to leave the country.

Speaking to New Zimbabwe, Leo Mugabe said:

She will settle here. She is Zimbabwean, she has no reason to go anywhere. She will be at her house at Blue Roof.

I am sure she will start to do her normal work after the burial, that she has always been doing before at the farm and running the family business.

Meanwhile, some of Mugabe’s loyalists, including former Cabinet Ministers, Professor Jonathan Moyo, Patrick Zhuwao and Saviour Kasukuwere are currently in exile.

They have even snubbed Mugabe’s funeral as they believe that they will be arrested upon their return.

They have since launched the Zimbabwe Generation 40 (G40) political party and duly notified the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) of its existence.
