ZANU PF Youth League boss, Pupurai Togarepi, has claimed that the opposition MDC and or the United States of America, know where the missing president of Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association, Dr Peter Magombeyi is and should return him.
He wrote before reports that Magombeyi had been found.
Togarepi further said that the party led by advocate Nelson Chamisa is celebrating Magombeyi’s disappearance together with its “handlers”. He added:
Having said that, we find it utterly disgusting that there are some elements who want to use the disappearance of Peter for political mileage, no, we should never sacrifice our conscience as a nation on the altar of expediency, we are better than that and the polarisation resident in our nation should not blind us from seeing the obvious. The MDC-A, more than anyone else think they stand to benefit from Peter’s disappearance and should tell us where they hid him.
Togarepi added that ZANU PF could not risk its re-engagement agenda as the disappearance painted a dark picture on the country.
He observed that violating human rights activists when a UN envoy was in the country, was tantamount to shooting self in the foot.
Observers and MDC, however, are adamant that it is the state that has conducted a spate of abductions and torture of citizens recently.
The MDC on Thursday 19 September said that the ruling ZANU PF had previously committed serious crimes against humanity when the whole world was watching, therefore, nothing could scare them from repeating the same now.
