Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) have filed an urgent chamber application at the High Court seeking an order that forces the State to release the acting president of Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association, Peter Magombeyi.
The application comes after the State has blocked the release of Magombeyi from Avenues Hospital to go to South Africa where his doctors want him to have medical attention.
The State also made an application at the High Court to legitimise the detention of the doctor saying he was unfit to travel and also that the state was concerned about his security.
