FIFA has reportedly told ZIFA to assess its decision to ban Philip Chiyangwa and Omega Sibanda from engaging in any football activities Sunday News reports. ZIFA had written to FIFA seeking the body’s endorsement of the decision they had taken.
According to the Sunday Mail FIFA responded by saying ZIFA should assess the decision one more time:
Zifa informed Fifa, by letter on September 13th, of its decision regarding the life ban of Phillip Chiyangwa and Omega Sibanda. Referring to the relevant provisions of the Zifa statutes, Fifa has recommended that the Zifa executive committee assess again this decision at its next meeting on 4 October 2019
ZIFA banned Chiyangwa and Sibanda for bringing local football into disrepute through the 2019 COSAFA Cup bid fiasco which saw the Warriors banned from next year’s edition.
