ED Arrives In Botswana For The Zimbabwe-Botswana Bi-National Commission Meeting

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Botswana where he is set to attend and co-chair the Zimbabwe-Botswana Bi-National Commission (BNC) meeting slated for this Friday.

Mnangagwa leads a four-member delegation comprising of the Minister and Economic Development Prof Mthuli Ncube, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa and Health and Childcare Minister Dr Obadiah Moyo.

The BNC which is chaired by Heads of State was upgraded from the Joint Permanent Commission which is chaired by foreign affairs ministers.

The president is expected to co-chair the final session of the commission with his Botswana counterpart President Mokgweetsi Masisi and will also witness the signing of at least seven agreements on co-operation between the two countries.

At last year’s edition of the BNC meeting, Botswana availed a financial facility to Zimbabwe’s private sector of BWP 1 billion to help local businesses to recover from years of economic downturn.

Six co-operation agreements in various areas, the value, terms and conditions of which are unknown, were also signed.
