The People’s Republic of China has criticised the United States (U.S.) clampdown on Chinese telecom giant Huawei as “dirty play”.
The pushback from Beijing came a day after the US announced visa restrictions for Huawei employees and those of other Chinese firms if they were involved in human rights abuses.
China made reference to racial discrimination and human rights violations in the U.S.
Tensions between the two giants on both geopolitical and geoeconomics arenas have been rising lately as a result of a number of developments including Beijing’s policies on Hong Kong and Washington’s allegations that China was hiding information about the coronavirus.
