CAF Distances Itself From A Condolences Letter Circulating On Social Media Addressing Chiyangwa As ZIFA President

CAF has dismissed a condolences letter circulating on social media supposedly from the African football governing body to Philip Chiyangwa addressing Chiyangwa as the ZIFA president, the Chronicle reports.

The letter according to the publication that was mourning the death of Chris Sambo a former PSL CEO was later withdrawn and replaced with another one that doesn’t give Chiyangwa a wrong title addressed to ZIFA president Felton Kamambo.

CAF when asked by the publication the authenticity of the first letter denied its authenticity and distanced itself from the infamous letter. According to the Chronicle CAF said:

The letter attached in your email, which also circulates on the net, does not come from our service (fake news). Our letter of condolence was sent only by email on 2/8/2020 at 8.30AM to the president of the federation Felton Kamambo and the federation email contact.

Ironically, according to the publication, the fake letter and the correct letter contain exactly the same contents except for the recipient. Chiyangwa confirmed he did not receive any letter from CAF while Kamambo acknowledged receipt of the letter from CAF.
