Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 04 March 2022

Zimbabwe first recorded a Coronavirus case in March 2020. Since then, many people have contracted the virus. Many recovered, but some succumbed to the novel virus. Pindula News presents the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe prepared by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 04 March 2022:

• 633 New Cases (All local) and 0 Deaths reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases raises to 467 from 448 (yesterday). 14 of the reported cases were Imported, Mat South (14). 131 of the new cases reported today are from outbreaks detected from schools in Manicaland (51), Mat South (31), Mash East (29), Masvingo (19), and Mash Central (1).

• Vaccination Update: 1 971 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 370 604, 2 127 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 405 628 while 5 410 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 137 995.

• As of 3 March 2022, @1500hrs there were (77) hospitalised cases: New Admissions (15), Asymptomatic (13), mild to moderate (57), severe (7) and (0) in Intensive Care Units.

• 3 620 tests done today (Positivity today was 17 %)

447 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 96% & Active cases go up to 5 453

• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 238 739 Cases 227 889 recoveries & 5 397 Deaths.
