Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 05 March 2022

Zimbabwe first recorded a Coronavirus case in March 2020. Since then, many people have contracted the virus. Many recovered, but some succumbed to the novel virus. Pindula News presents the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe prepared by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 05 March 2022:

280 New Cases (All local) and 0 Death reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases falls to 459 from 467 (yesterday). 33 of the new cases reported today are from outbreaks detected from schools in Mash East (18), Manicaland (8), Masvingo (4) and Mash Central (3).

• Vaccination Update: 2 477 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 373 081, 1 731 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 407 359 while 1 316 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 139 311.

• As of 4 March 2022, @1500hrs there were (82) hospitalised cases: New Admissions (16), Asymptomatic (7), mild to moderate (68), severe (7) and (0) In Intensive Care Units.

• 4 304 tests done today (Positivity today was 6%)

335 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 96% & Active cases go down to 5 398.

• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 239 019 Cases 228 224 recoveries & 5 397 Deaths.
