The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has released the results of by-elections held on the 22nd of October 2022 in Manicaland, Matabeleland South and Midlands Provinces. The notice seen by Pindula News notes that the ruling ZANU PF won five (5) seats out of six (6) that were up for grabs while the remaining one (1) was won by the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). Mutare Ward 18:
Murindashaka Blessing (Male) … 711 votes (CCC)
Chiwashira Loveness (Female) …. 478 votes (ZANU PF)
Machekeche Nyasha (Male) …….. 18 votes (NCA)
Midlands:
Takawira RDC Ward 6:-

The by-elections were preceded by reports of violence in Matabeleland South.
The opposition CCC led by Nelson Chamisa, a former Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services reported that its members and senior officials were attacked and injured by members of the ruling ZANU PF while campaigning ahead of the elections.
