Kombis Hike Fares As ZUPCO Buses Disappear

Public transporters have suddenly hiked transport fares in Harare, according to reports.
The move has been attributed to the disappearance of makeshift ZUPCO buses from most of the urban routes and fears of fuel shortages due to the disruption of key oil infrastructure at Beira in Mozambique by Cyclone Idai-induced floods.
In some Harare suburbs, the kombis have increased fares from ZWL1.00 to ZWL1.50 while commuters from Zengeza in Chitungwiza have to fork out ZWL3.00 for a single trip.
