Harare City Council (HCC) is reported to have lost $2 million in a flawed retrenchment package pay-out. An internal audit has noted that retrenchment packages for nine top executives were increased.
The executives are reported to have overridden the procedure which required consideration of employee grades for the packages.
Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) is believed to have opened investigations into corruption allegations against former Harare town clerk Tendai Mahachi and six other senior council officials.
