"No Hint Of Corruption In Zimbabwe-DRC Match," CAF Says. No Investigation Being Held
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) said on Friday, 6 July that there’s no hint of any corruption that took place regarding the Zimbabwe-DRC match, and that it’s not carrying out an investigation on the matter.
CAF General Secretary, Mouad Hajji, was asked during a press conference about media reports suggesting that there was a case of match-fixing. Hajji said it has not received any complaint from the ZIFA.
Said Hajji:
At the level of the CAF, there is no suspicion. There is no hint of corruption about the Zimbabwe-DRC match in the third Group A match played on June 30, in Cairo.
But if it turned out that there was anything, and not only for this match, I remind you that our policy is a zero tolerance policy on corruption. As of today, there is no correspondence or issue.
