Govt Denies Blocking Winky D From Being Interviewed On Local Radio Stations
The government has dismissed reports that Zimdancehall kingpin, Winky D, has been blocked from being interviewed on all local radio stations ahead of the launch of his album set for the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on Tuesday.
In a statement posted on its Twitter handle this Monday afternoon, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services said:
We have noted an article on an online publication making a false claim that Govt has banned one of our local artists from being interviewed on national radio. These are unfounded falsehoods. Members of the Media are advised to fact-check with us on related matters.
FeedbackEarlier reports had claimed that Winky D’s interview with Chamvary on Star FM today was cancelled and his music was set to be banned on local radio stations because of his song, Ijipita.
