Senegalese Club Wary Of FC Platinum
Senegalese side ASC Jaraaf are still wary of Zimbabwean champions FC Platinum despite winning 1-0 in the CAF Confederations Cup first leg group stage qualifier played in Harare on Sunday.
The two teams meet again on Sunday for the decisive second leg at the Lat Dior Stadium in Thiès, just outside capital Dakar.
FC Platinum missed several chances to score, including a penalty, at the National Sports Stadium and were severely punished by the Senagalese for their shyness in front of goal.
Winger Silas Songani’s first-half penalty kick was saved by goalkeeper Pape Ndiaye before defender Gift Bello failed to score with the goal gaping in added time.
However, ASC Jaraaf captain Madické Kane told Senegalese media that the Zimbabweans were no rollovers. He said:

The match was very difficult, but we are delighted to have been able to win the three points.
In the first half, our team block was quite deep. It was when we returned from the locker room that the coach asked us to take them higher with a pressing to prevent them from developing their game.
In the second half, they pumped all their balls upfront. They tried a long ball due to our pressing.
A draw is enough for the Senegalese to progress to the group stages but FC Platinum need a two-goal margin win.
