Stock In Transit: Suspected Cattle Thieves Arrested
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) arrested three suspected cattle thieves after they were found in possession of four heifers which they failed to account for.
The trio, 25-year-old Ben Zimunya and his accomplices, Cainne Mungazi (38) and Garikai Muduri (33) was intercepted by police at Mpudzi Shopping Centre along the Mutare- Masvingo highway carrying four heifers in a truck.

The State alleges that the suspected cattle rustlers failed to account for the heifers after being quizzed by the police.
The court heard that the trio had no documentation to authorise the transportation of the heifers, leading to their arrest.

They were granted ZWL$20 000 bail when they appeared in court charged with stock theft.
They are expected back in court on the 26th of this month.
In most cases, the rustlers sell the cattle to butcheries at very cheap prices.
Fears about that without proper monitoring and evaluation, butcheries might buy and sell contaminated livestock thereby putting customers’ lives in danger.
