UPDATE On ZIMRA Bus Accident
The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has issued an update on the accident that occurred on Tuesday involving its bus. In a statement, seen by Pindula News, ZIMRA said three of its officers who were on board died on the spot. Reads the statement issued this Thursday:
Further to our notice issued in the morning of 20 April 2022 regarding the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) bus accident, we wish to confirm the following:
i). The accident occurred on Tuesday 19 April 2022 at Corona Shops, approximately 90km from Harare along the Masvingo road.
Feedbackii). Three ZIMRA Officers died on the spot.
iii). Fourteen (14) Officers were injured in the accident and these were treated and discharged.
iv). Five (5) Officers are in a critical condition and are being treated at local health institutions.
v). Seven (7) members of staff escaped the accident without any injuries.
The accident involved our ZIMRA bus which was carrying Officers who were coming from Beitbridge where they had been assigned to provide relief during the Easter and Independence Holidays.
Our deepest condolences to the families of those who have passed on and our prayers and best wishes are with those still receiving medical attention.
