Job Description

Applicants are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacant post that has arisen in the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission.

Reports To: Director Human Resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft and recommend human resource policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Human Resources Director in developing the Commission's Human Resources Strategy.
  • Assist in the handling all human resources issues including recruitment and selection, performance management, reward management, employee retention, employee grievances, disciplinary issues, employee welfare and industrial relations.
  • Develop budgets strategies for training and human resources development programmes.
  • Facilitate and supervise all capacity building activities in the Commission.
  • Coordinate the production of Human Resources training and development plans for the Commission and manage the implementation.
  • Facilitate the orientation and induction of newly appointed staff in the Commission.
  • Interpret the Labour legislation, regulations and Human Resources policies and procedures to staff.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly and annual Human Resources management reports.
  • Appraise, supervise and offer advice to subordinates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Social Science or any relevant qualification from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • A relevant Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years' working experience in a Human Resource environment preferably in the public sector.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies. Thorough knowledge and interpretation of applicable labour legislation.
  • Excellent understanding of the IRBM performance management system.
  • Good interpersonal skills and excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent report writing, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a person of high integrity, highly professional, assertive and innovative.
  • Aclean class four 4 driver's license.
