Scottland FC owner Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya has threatened to withdraw the club from the ZIFA Northern Region Division One League, citing what he perceives as “dark arts” in the league, reported <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/scottland-drop-bombshell/">The Herald</a>.
This threat follows Scottland’s recent 1-1 draw against MWOS FC in an intense match at Ngoni Stadium on Saturday, which drew a crowd of over 5,000 fans, including former ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa and former Premier Soccer League (PSLs chairman Twine Phiri.
Under the guidance of former Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe, Scottland initially seemed poised for victory after Denver Mukamba scored, but MWOS equalized in the dying moments of the match.
With this result, Scottland has secured eight out of a possible 12 points against their main rivals, MWOS and Black Rhinos, in their recent encounters.
However, Sakupwanya was infuriated by the circumstances surrounding MWOS’s equaliser and stormed onto the pitch following the final whistle.
The ZANU PF MP accused MWOS coach Lloyd Mutasa of employing tactics that distracted Scottland’s goalkeeper, in the lead-up to the late equalising goal. He said:

Our goalkeeper was distracted by the deliberate actions of the MWOS coach and we are surprised that in football we still allow outside interference to play a role in the outcome of matches.
This was a big game and every effort should have been made to ensure that the outcome would be determined by the action on the pitch.
We have got worse results than this one this season when we lost some games, but we accepted the result and didn’t complain at all.
We are complaining now because we feel that it’s not right for a player to be distracted by outside forces like what happened to our goalkeeper.
The MWOS coach sent the ball boy to distract our goalkeeper by pouring whatever liquid they poured at our goal and all the other stuff they splashed there.
This was a crucial stage of the game and we are unhappy that there was no protection against our ‘keeper and this was a deliberate act by the coach of our opponents.
We are not happy at all, and we feel that if this is the way things are done in the league, then it isn’t a place for us to continue playing there because we are investing a lot in our team and our community.
All we want is fairness and if there is no fairness then there is no reason for us to remain part of the league.

Mutasa has found himself at the centre of controversy in recent weeks as the competition for the sole PSL ticket intensifies.
Two weeks ago, he was reportedly punched by Black Rhinos counterpart Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera during a chaotic incident at Heart Stadium, which erupted after the army side was denied a penalty.

Castle Lager Premiership club Green Fuel fired coaches Lloyd Mutasa and Bekithemba Ndlovu on Saturday following a 2-3 loss at home to Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Mutasa and Ndlovu were fired after they failed to achieve the ultimatum that had been set for them before the game.
The Green Fuel technical department had been ordered to collect at least six points from three matches against Shesham, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Simba Bhora.
They managed to collect just a point from the encounter against fellow debutantes Shesham before losing to Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Mutasa was the technical director and Ndlovu was the head coach responsible for team selection, training sessions as well as game management.
Green Fuel chairman Fredson Moyo confirmed the development to <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/breaking-greenfuel-coaches-fired-dhlakama-appointed/">The Manica Post</a> on Sunday. He said:

It is always sad to part ways but as a club, there is really nothing we can do because all we want are results.
We will soon be issuing an official statement but otherwise, it is a done deal.
Mutasa and Ndlovu are parting ways with GreenFuel, while Rodwell Dhlakama is taking over.

The Ethanol Boys lost 1-0 to Yadah Stars before drawing with Herentals FC. They then lost 2-1 to Manica Diamonds before suffering another morale-sapping 3-0 defeat at the hands of Hwange at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo.
Green Fuel then grabbed another point against Sheasham last weekend.

Green Fuel Fires Coaches, Appoints Rodwell Dhlakama

Newly-promoted Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Green Fuel has reportedly appointed former Highlanders assistant coach Bhekithemba Ndlovu as one of the assistants to head coach Lloyd Mutasa.
NewsDay reported sources as saying Ndlovu signed a contract with Green Fuel this week and was expected to start training with the club next year on 5 January.
Mutasa already has Joseph “Shabba” Takaringofa as well as former Dynamos, Black Aces and Caps United midfielder Albert “Dhalala” Mabika as assistant coaches.
Mutasa, a former Dynamos player, and coach guided Green Fuel to promotion to the top flight last season, finishing 12 points clear of second-placed Mutare City Rovers.
He has previously guided Kiglon Stars into the Premiership in 2007 and Highway the following year.
Green Fuel is the first Premier League team from Chisumbanje.

Former Dynamos winger Valentine Kadonzvo has credited his former coach at Dembare, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Lloyd_Mutasa" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lloyd Mutasa</a> for giving him the big break before his career finally took off.
Kadonzvo was playing for DStv Rangers in Division One when Mutasa spotted him and invited him for trials with the Glamour Boys. He said:
<blockquote>Lloyd Mutasa saw me playing for DStv in Division One and he invited me to come for trials at the club; I was successful and I joined Dynamos in 2017.
When I was signed by Dynamos, I spent about five months on the sidelines before I broke into the first team. It was not a joke I had to work hard.</blockquote>
Kadonzvo eventually left Dynamos early in 2019 while he still had a year left on his contract, on the understanding that he was leaving the country for the United States to further his studies.
However, he resurfaced at Chicken Inn a few days later, and this did not go down well with Dembare who felt that they were duped.

Kadonzvo Credits His Rise To Lloyd Mutasa

Following its relegation from the Premier Soccer League to Division One, TelOne has said that it is up to coach <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Rahman_Gumbo" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Rahman Gumbo</a> and his assistant <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Lloyd_Mutasa" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lloyd Mutasa</a> to decide if they want to remain with the club or move on.
TelOne president Lloyd Mthethwa revealed that the club still wants the duo to stay despite being relegated. He said:
<blockquote>It is up to them to decide if they want to stay or move on.
We still want them at the club, because we appreciate the work they did despite us getting relegated at the end.
I think we all saw that their arrival at the club changed fortunes for the team, but we were unfortunate.</blockquote>
Reports indicate that Gumbo and Mutasa intend to leave the club for Highlanders and Whawha respectively.

Gumbo, Mutasa To Decide Their Futures With TelOne

Former Dynamos coach and Warriors assistant, Lloyd Mutasa, has been appointed an assistant coach at Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) side TelOne FC.
Mutasa will be assistant to head coach Rahman Gumbo who was recently appointed to save the club from looming relegation.
The WiFi Boys also announced the appointment of ex-Highlanders goalkeepers coach, Tembo Chuma, to assist Gumbo. A statement by the club reads:
<blockquote>TelOne is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Lloyd Mutasa and Mr Tembo Tshuma as First Assistant Coach and Goalkeepers Coach with immediate effect.</blockquote>
This is the second time that Gumbo and Mutasa have worked together having been assistants to Sunday Chidzambga with The Warriors. The pair was sacked soon after Chidzambga’s sudden resignation.
