Danai Gurira campaigns for Hillary Clinton

On Tuesday, television star and Tony-nominated playwright Danai Gurira was in Orlando to campaign for Democratic Presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.

After describing her family’s journey to the United States from Zimbabwe, which included, her father overcoming a language barrier to become a chemist, she emphasized the importance of immigrants coming to America as the reason why the country was stronger together,

This is about empowerment and working hard. People come here and build business and they celebrate their culture and allow people to do the same. That’s what makes American great. People coming together and having that fusion.
