Bulawayo City's assistant coach and kit manager banned for attempted match fixing
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has banned Bulawayo City’s Farai Mujokoro and kit manager Gift Mvela for their alleged involvement in an attempt to fix a match between Bulawayo City and Border Strikers in August. The two were both given a five-year ban from all football related activitites. However, Bulawayo City was absolved of any wrong doing.
It is lucidly clear that … Mujokoro and … Mvela acted in common purpose to try to match fix the game thereby contravening the provisions of Order 31.2.2 of PSL rules and regulations.
FeedbackWe thus, found Mujokoro and Mvela guilty. Bulawayo City is found not guilty and acquitted. There is no evidence presented that links the club to the commission of the offence.
The mere fact that the other accused are employed by the club and that the club would benefit from the offence is just but an unsupported allegation, which is not sufficient evidence to the commission of the offence
said the PSL in their judgement.
