Government denies that First Lady exported wild animals to settle debt

The government has denied reports that First Lady Grace Mugabe exported a variety of animals toChina to settle a debt. The government was responding to a report which appeared in the India Times which stated the first lady had sent a
…menagerie of safari animals to Chinese wildlife park to pay for military uniforms for the DRC.
The report stated that government had exported at least
- 35 elephant calves
- 8 lions
- 12 hyenas
- 1 giraffe
However, the government refuted the allegations saying:
[Zimbabwe] has not exported any game for purposes of settling some military debt or any debt at all
