Parents take Lazarus Dokora to court over new curriculum
Through the School Development Committee, parents whose children learn at Dadaya High School have taken Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Lazarus Dokora to court for introducing the new curriculum without consulting them.
Through their lawyers Mutendi, Mudisi and Shumba Legal Practitioners, yesterday filed an urgent chamber application at Bulawayo High Court citing Dokora and the Headmaster as respondents. They are seeking the suspension of the use of the new curriculum until proper consultations are done. They argue that the introduction of the new curriculum without consultations is a violation of their rights as guaranteed in the Constitution. They also argue that the new curriculum compromised the education system.
