We will amend the Constitution to abolish Dual Citizenship: Mudede
Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede has revealed that the Ministry of Home Affairs will be seeking to abolish Dual Citizenship despite the fact that it is provided for in the Constitution. Making a presentation on the Constitution and dual citizenship to the Zanu-PF parliamentary caucus Mudede said that the Ministry was going to seek an amendment to the constitution as dual citizenship posed a number of security challenges to the country such as tax evasion, evasion from justice, involvement in cases of human trafficking, international terrorism
Said Mudede:
As the Ministry of Home Affairs, we have decided that we are not going for realignment (of the Citizenship Act to the Constitution), but for amendment
