Shingi Mukandi's alleged killer arrested, brother also arrested for hiding car
Alfred Takudzwa Machipisa (25), the man who allegedly killed businessman Shingi Mukandi appeared before Harare Magistrate Josephine Sande facing four counts of violating the Traffic Act. The state opposed bail saying that Machipisa was likely to abscond, same as how he had fled from the scene of the accident. The investigating officer also said that Machipisa’s life would be at risk as the deceased’s friends had tried to attack him. Magistrate Sande remanded him in custody and will rule on his bail application today (Thursday).
Alfred’s brother Fanwell Lloyd Machipisa also appeared in court facing allegations of defeating or obstructing the course of justice. Fanwell is alleged to have agreed to hide Alfred’s car at his house after Alfred had committed the hit and run.
Alfred was arrested after he turned himself in to the police after they had discovered the vehicle.
