Drought forecasted for first half of the 2017/18 season and floods for the second half

The Southern African Development Committee (Sadc), Climate Services Centre (CSC) has warned that Southern African countries will have a very difficult 2017/18 rainfall season. CSC has forecasted that the region will experience a drought in the first half of the season. However, the second half of the season is expected to produce floods.
The CSC has called for disaster preparedness and careful planning to avoid food shortages.
