Govt to provide business loans for workers retrenched since 2015
In an interview with The Herald, Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Deputy Minister Tapiwa Matangaidze said that Government is compiling a database of workers retrenched since 2015 and has set aside $5 million which will be given out as business loans.
Said Matangaidze:
Our ministry is in the process of creating a database of all the affected employees, which we will forward to NSSA, so that they access loans to kick-start various income generating projects, and the process is at an advanced stage. Five million dollars has already been set aside, ready for disbursement as soon as the process is finished.
