Speaking at a media briefing in Harare this evening, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Professor Paul Mavima said Government will continue with the New Curriculum following positive Grade 7 results especially in Agriculture which was written for the first time at Grade 7.
Grade 7 pupils recorded a pass rate of 44.73 % which is an increase by 1.83% compared to last year’s pass rate. Grade 7 pupils this year set for five subjects after the addition of Agriculture and the subject recorded a 50.13% pass rate. Braille candidates recorded a pass rate of 71.43 %, enlarged print candidates recorded a pass rate of 50%, while candidates who are hard of hearing recorded a pass rate of 31.59%.
