Dabengwa Refuses Mnangagwa's Offer To Rejoin Zanu-PF, Says I Will Only Serve In Govt
Zapu leader and former cabinet minister Dumiso Dabengwa has refused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s offer to rejoin Zanu-PF. Dabengwa who is reported to have been promised a senior position turned down the offer insisting that he was only willing to serve in government as a member of Zapu. Mnangagwa is said to have sent a delegation led by a military commander to convince Dabengwa.
Speaking to The Zimbabwe Independent, Dabengwa said,
I have met many people who have come from Mnangagwa to discuss a number of things. They know what I have said to them. My story has not changed. The demands that I made remain the same. I have insisted that if I am to go back there, I will not join Zanu PF and all these other things. These conditions have to be respected.
FeedbackWhy do you want me to confirm that? I have given you my word on this matter. Whether I met him (the commander) or not is neither here nor there.
