Herald Editor Joram Nyathi Suspended As Zanu-PF Factional Fights Intensify
Editor of The Herald, Joram Nyathi has been suspended weeks into the job.
Nyathi was suspended over factional fights over control of Herald. Nyathi’s suspension comes after Justice Mayor Wadyajena called out The Herald for not putting President Mnangagwa’s return to Zimbabwe on today’s front page. There are reports that one Zanu-PF faction wants to reinstate Caesar Zvayi.
Nyathi was installed as the new editor of The Herald in December last year during a reshuffle replacing Zvayi who assumed a new position of editor at large. In his his new post Zvayi is in charge of special projects “including overseeing of well researched political and economic content as well as special revenue generating supplements.”
