Energy Minister Hands Over 29 Pickup Trucks Worth $1 Million To ZETDC
The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, bought 29 Nissan pick up trucks that are expected to improve its operational efficiency.
The trucks cost the power utility nearly $1 million. They were handed over to ZETDC acting managing director Engineer Ralph Katsande by Energy and Power development Minister Dr Joram Gumbo at Zesa Enterprises in Southerton, Harare. Minister Gumbo had this to say;
I am honoured to address this important occasion of the handover of 29 brand new operational vehicles that have been procured by ZETDC at a cost of $997 600 from the local market and are set to be distributed today to various regions of the power utility.
FeedbackGumbo said that the trucks were being funded from ZETDC’s own resources. He expressed confidence that the purchase of the vehicles will go a long way in addressing the operational challenges that the company had been facing, especially in responding to electrical faults.
