Noah Manyika Requests Govt To Waive Duty On Cylone Relief Goods From America
The leader of an opposition party, Build Zimbabwe Alliance, and Co-Chair of War on Poverty Trust, Dr Noah Manyika, told the Mail and Telegraph that his organisation has made an agreement with their US partner.
The US partners agreed to provide the Cyclone Idai victims with solar home lighting kits, transport to Zimbabwe, and any clearance or taxes. Said Mayika:
Our partner in the US has agreed to supply our Light the Way campaign for victims of Cyclone Idai with solar home lighting kits at cost ($160/ea. plus transport to Zimbabwe and any clearance or taxes),
We are engaging the government to waive customs for these.FeedbackOne kit has five lights with five-meter cables and individual switches and can actually be used for multiple families living in close quarters, temporary housing.
Each kit has a USB port for phone charging a large 20w panel and 8Ah lithium-ion battery means all of the lights can function for 12 hours if need be.
