Red Cross Dismisses Politicisation Of Cyclone Idai Relief

International Red Cross country director in Zimbabwe Mr Paolo Cernuschi has dismissed reports that cyclone idai relief aid was being distributed along partisan lines saying everything was being done transparently.

Cernuschi said he visited Chipinge today.and did not witness any politicisation of food aid. Said Cernuschi:

I attended a distribution in Chipinge today for 200 families. Selection was transparent. 2 humanitarian agencies were present. No political statements made or implied. While reports of politicization of #CycloneIdai aid are concerning, I’m happy to have seen none of that today.
