Mnangagwa Handpicks James Maridadi As Ambassador-designate
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reportedly handpicked former MDC legislator for Mabvuku-Tafara, James Maridadi as an ambassador-designate.
Maridadi, who once worked at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Authority’s Radio 3 (Power FM) as a disc jockey, fell out of favour with MDC leader Nelson Chamisa soon after taking over the party reins after the death of Morgan Tsvangirai in 2018. In a Twitter post on Wednesday evening, ZBC News Online wrote:

The former ZBC DJ, was among 15 ambassadors designate and 23 foreign affairs officials who started a month-long diplomatic training course in Harare today.FeedbackSince leaving the studio for politics, Maridadi is best known for his robust debates in Parliament and became famous in 2017 when he moved the motion to impeach former President Robert Mugabe, who was to resign later that day as a result.
