US Ambassador To Zimbabwe Nods To Gukurahundi Talks
US Ambassador to Zimbabwe Brian Nichols has claimed that the proposed open discussion on Gukurahundi by President Emmerson Mnangagwa is a good start for reforms.
Nichols was speaking during an exclusive interview with 263Chat yesterday.
Ambassador Nichols said:
The last few days have been positive, the opening of the dialogue on Gukurahundi and taking steps towards addressing some of the long-standing issues, the calls for accountability for transparency and what happened to people, I think that’s positive.
President Mnangagwa who proposed the free discussion on Gukurahundi indicated over the weekend that the idea is a brainchild of a meeting with the Matabeleland Collective.
