Challenging Tuku's Will A Wild Goose Chase - Legal Experts

Following the recent revelation that the late Zimbabwean icon Oliver Mtukudzi left his entire fortune in the hands of wife, Daisy, legal experts have opined that fighting the will would be a wild goose chase.

It is believed that Tku left nothing for his children who could have expected something from him. The recently revealed Will reads:

I hereby bequeath all my properties, share and shares in any company or companies or entities to my wife, Daisy Kudzai Mtukudzi born on the second of February 1959.

One legal expert who spoke to NewsDay Life & Style said:

All adult children, even minors, can be part of the beneficiaries, but there is no provision in the law that they should benefit. But the advantage of minor children is that they can have recourse to the law if the deceased had the legal duty to provide for them.

Selmor and others are self-supporting adults so the chances of successfully challenging the will are very remote, unless if there are allegations of some form of interference (in the drafting of the will), but they need to prove that.

The legal practitioner said that Tuku had a right to draft the will the way he liked although the will can be challenged.

There are some who believe that the will must have been drafted when Tuku was not in good books with Selmor and her mother.
