The gang, dressed in military attire and armed with rifles, approached a shop at night and threatened to shoot the security guards who were manning the place. The guards then ran for dear life. It is further reported that the gang then broke into the shop, damaged CCTV cameras and stole goods worth US$19 575. They loaded the loot into a commuter omnibus that was parked outside and fled from the scene.

Ngwarati who was arrested on April 29 by CID homicide detectives at Artillery Brigade in Domboshava led the detectives to the recovery of some stolen goods from his sister’s place in Waterfalls. The other stolen property was recovered from a man who had bought them from the accused persons.
