ED: Do Not Panic Over Current Economic Reforms, All Shall Be Well
President Mnangagwa has called upon the nation to be calm as the government is working towards returning things to normalcy. His remarks come at a time when prices of commodities and fees are hiking at an unprecedented rate.
ZANU PF’s chief whip Pupurai Togarepi said that the president revealed that the challenges were temporary and will pass. Speaking to journalists soon after the Zanu-PF Caucus meeting in Harare yesterday, Togarepi said:
The President assured members that people will not starve because Government is working on providing enough food for each household.
FeedbackThere are high tensions in the country as soaring inflation has eroded workers’ salaries. Labour unions, consumer groups and opposition political parties have in the past few weeks threatened to take it to the streets as a sign of displeasure in the state of affairs.
Health and education officials last week gave the government a two-week ultimatum to address their issues threatening to suspend their services if demands were not met.
