Dabengwa Died A Bitter Man After His Push For A National Transitional Authority Was In Vain
Zapu secretary-general, Strike Mnkandla told mourners at Dabengwa’s burial in Ntabazinduna on Saturday that the Zapu leader tried to influence a national transitional authority but his efforts were in vain. Mnkandla said:
In the area of governance, Dabengwa was committed to promoting democratisation and peaceful change.
In-spite of the fact that he knew what to do when there was no peace. Dabengwa also tried other peaceful elements. He tried to push for an NTA. He tried to show that there was soft landing after President Mugabe left, but that was not to happen.FeedbackZimbabweans were bracing for a national transitional authority when Mugabe left the political arena. The nation was imagining a transitional government involving the MDC led by the late Morgan Tsvangirai, Joyce Mujuru, and other prominent political parties and figures. The ruling Zanu PF party, however, chose the path of elections. The opposition MDC did not accept the outcome of the election arguing that the electoral process was marred by several irregularities.More: NewsDay
