WATCH: Govt Official Sheds Light On The US$10 Million Paid To Eskom

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance George Guvamatanga said that the US$10 payment to Eskom normally takes 7 days to be processed and therefore, Energy and Power Development Minister, Fortune Chasi did not lie.

Guvamatanga, his boss at the Treasury Mthuli Ncube, and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor John Mangudya were appearing before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Finance on Monday.

This follows a statement released by South Africa’s power utility Eskom last Friday, that it had not received a US$10 million payment from Zimbabwe.
