A 38-year-old man of Mudzimukunzi village, in Chief Svosve’s chiefdom, was reportedly stabbed whilst assisting police to arrest an assault suspect.
Kennedy Nyandoro was pronounced dead upon arrival at Marondera Provincial Hospital where he had been taken for medication after being stabbed in the throat by 26-year-old Jaison Chinakidza.
The incident was confirmed by Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza. Mwanza said:
I confirm the death of a man who was stabbed by a sharp object before the suspect fled from the scene. We appeal to members of the public to notify the police if they have information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect. The public should also be careful because the suspect is dangerous.
