"Corruption Is Within ZACC Itself", Justice Matanda-Moyo
Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) chairperson, Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo, conceded that members of the public have lost confidence in the authorities’ ability to fight graft.
Speaking to the Daily News on Sunday, Justice Matanda-Moyo admitted that corruption has seeped into the whole governance architecture. She said:
We are aware that people have lost confidence in institutions that are there to fight crime and corruption and to ensure that the rule of law prevails.
FeedbackIt is very true that corruption is now everywhere. It is within Zacc itself, the National Prosecuting Authority, the judiciary and the executive.
Justice Matanda-Moyo vowed to deal with the cartels within State institutions responsible for fuelling corruption. She added that ZACC will sign an MoU with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA), for the two organisations to jointly fight corruption at the country’s entry and exit points.
