MSD Warns Of Violent Storms, Advises People To Stay Indoors
The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) said that some parts of the country will from this Thursday start to experience heavy rains.
The rains will be violent, accompanied by lightning, strong winds and hail. In a statement on Wednesday, the MSD said:
The thundershowers may be very violent in some places and accompanied by lightning, strong winds and even hail.
FeedbackThe public is advised that it is safer to be indoors during thunderstorms and do not stay under trees as these tend to be natural lightning conductors.
The country has been experiencing very high temperatures over the past few days. High temperatures generate powerful convection currents and when the relative humidity is high, thunderstorms usually result during the late afternoon and early evening hours.
