Govt Officials Demand Bribes From Former Eskom CEO - REPORT
Former Eskom Chief Executive Officer, Matshela Koko, said he has failed to make progress on his 100-megawatt solar power plant because government officials are demanding bribes from him.
Koko’s company, Matshela Energy, was awarded a licence to generate electricity by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) in July this year. Writing on microblogging site Twitter on Friday, Koko said:
Matshela Energy received a generation license in July 2019.
Feedback6 months later nothing has happened.
Our plan was to break ground in August 2019.
