MDC Councillors, Town Clerk Decide To 'Let Bygones Be Bygones'
MDC councillors Tinashe Kambarami and Silas Chigora have withdrawn assault charges against Bulawayo City Council town clerk Christopher Dube for the “sake of the city’s progress”.
Dube was set to appear at the Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court facing assault charges filed against him by the duo. Speaking to NewsDay, Chigora said:
We have met and talked over the issue and agreed to let bygones be bygones so that we concentrate on building the city.
FeedbackWe have a plethora of challenges in the city which require us to work together as one team and deliver quality service to the people of Bulawayo.
Dube was the first to file charges against the two MDC Alliance councillors after they attempted to have him sacked from his post earlier this year.
Kambarami, who was the deputy mayor at the time, tried unsuccessfully to fire Dube on allegations of abuse of office while the mayor, Solomon Mguni was away.
