Outrage As Associate Press Crops A Black Climate Activist Out Of A Photo And Leaves 4 Whites Only
Associated Press, a US news agency found themselves in some people’s crosshairs after their photographer cropped out one person in a photo they used for the story on climate activists they were covering. The photo had 5 individuals, 4 whites, one black and the photographer cropped out the black lady which did not sit well her.
This was brought to the world’s attention by the lady who was cropped out of the photo, Vanessa Nakate. Nakate made a video crying and saying she now understands the world racism.
The photo features prominent climate activists including Greta Thunberg, Loukina Tille, Luisa Neubauer and Isabelle Axelsson.
In their defence, Associated Press said:
(The photographer)Cropped it purely on composition grounds. He thought the building in the background was distracting

However, Twitter had already started talking about the incident even though Associate Press replaced the photo with the original one.
The group was photographed at the Davos Conference.
